While planning the Spring release I realized more goes into planning a collection than choosing tops, bottoms, and sizes, its much more than pricing and photos. What else can be more important than these you ask? Colors! Yes colors! While all of the above mentioned are important, choosing on trend colors may be the most important of all.
While doing my research I came across the Pantone color of the year and with that, someone asked how will you be using this color for your products? My thought was wow this must be big so I did more "googling" and found my assumption to be true. I found other brands using this color to introduce new products. So to Pantone's website I went. While on the site I discovered the Fashion Color Trend Report and my eyes lit up.
This report contains color trends for Spring/Summer from both New York and London Fashion Week. The report features the seasons top 10 colors along with four core classics.
Pantone 17-3938 Veri Peri is the color of the year for 2022. Per their website Very Peri is a color "whose courageous presence encourages personal inventiveness and creativity". An article on Pantone's website dated 9/8/21 says "according to the Pantone Color Institute experts, colors for Spring/Summer 2022 New York reflect our aspiration for balance..."
Pictured is the color of the year and the seasons top 10 colors. I will definitely be using these colors as inspiration for the upcoming collections.
